The Romanian Avifaunistical Rarities Committee – RARC – has been founded in 1999 December under the aegis of Romanisan Ornithological Society – SOR Birdlife Romania – as the result of the initiative of László Szabó-Szeley, Botond Kiss and Dan Munteanu. The Committee was organized from the wish to collect exact ornithological data and to certify the observation of rare or new bird species in Romania.

Comisia a fost adusa la viata din dorinta de a aduna date ornitologice corecte si de a omologa observarea unor specii de pasari rare sau noi pentru avifauna Romaniei.

Romanian Avifaunal Records and Rarities Committee Founded in 17 December 1999

New members election on 17 December 2004 The Romanian Avifaunal Records and Rarities Committee has been founded to register, analyse, and validate the recording of rare species of birds and then to make them public. The Romanian Avifaunal Records and Rarities Committee, RARRC will function from now on according to regulations which take into consideration the existent practices and regulations in other countries ( `rarities committees` ). The Committee RARRC consists of 7 members as follows: Laszlo Szabo-Szeley - President J.Botond Kiss Dan Hulea Zoltan Baczo - secretar Ambrus Laszlo Dan Munteanu Attila Szabo

The RARRC will assign the tasks for its members, will edit its regulations and will appeal, on national and internationalscale, to professional and amateur ornithologists who observe rare and new species of birds for the Avifauna in Romania. RARRC will keep in touch with similar committees from abroad and will take part in actions on an international level. The report of the new elections of RARRC has been signed by all the members of the Committee.
